Difference Between L1 and L2 Cache

L1 cache is some kind of memory which is built into the same CPU and it is the place where the CPU first tries to access.
The L2 cache is another memory but instead of feeding the CPU directly, this feeds the L1 cache.

Bigger in size than L1 cache.

This memory is built into the microprocessor.
This may be either built into or may be on separate chip.

It is faster than L2 Cache.
It’s slower than L1 Cache.

It does not need refreshing.
It requires refreshing.
